How do I check the status of a police case?

Use the official Dubai Police Application Status service, listed under Inquiries and Follow-up. It lets users track the status of their application using the reference number.

It is free and instant, and is available through the Dubai Police app, the Dubai Police website and the Smart Police Stations. Digital channels are available 24/7. You sign in with UAE Pass.

What do I need?

The reference number you were given when the complaint or request was made, and a UAE Pass account.

If you do not have a reference number, the Dubai Police Call Centre is 901, and police stations are open for in-person enquiries. A lawyer can also make enquiries on your behalf.

What if I think there is a case but I do not know the number?

Do not guess and do not ignore it. Ask your lawyer to make enquiries, because a case you have not seen may already have reached the Public Prosecution.

Under the Criminal Procedures Law the police must send an arrested person to the Public Prosecution within 48 hours (Article 48), so a case can move quickly.

What should I do once I find it?

Note the reference, the station, the date, the allegation and any date you must attend. Then speak to a lawyer before you contact the police or the other side.

See our guides to police summons and police investigation.
